Default Rear light overlays - hatch

Afternoon all,

I have seen these overlays before on hatches and would like to know the best place to find them,

Is this something that I could do myself with tinting film or leave to the professionals?

I can only find one place that sells them and that is in USA, can't say I am up for the pain of buying abroad and waiting for delivery..

Thoughts please!

I got mine from IAG performance in the USA. You're looking around £60 including postage.

To have a clear bit in the middle both sides you'll need a clear hatch rear right for the boot hatch.

There is a youtube vid by a big tuner that demos how to place the overlays - they require persistance rather than skill but there is a potential to **** up.

I'll be putting some pics up on my own car's thread this weekend when I have finished hopefully.

Could try www.litchfieldimports.co.uk, I know all the hatch's they sell have the red overlay on, put on by themselves. Let me know as I want to do this too when I eventually get my hatch!

Bluebat in the US do them too, he ships to the UK, about $50 all in. I had some, went to a vehicle wrapping company to have them fitted and they managed to f*ck it up..I haven't got round to getting anymore yet. I'm still waiting for a call back from Litchfields (3 months later) about how much they cost and whether they could do some other work on my car.

You'll be waiting for a while to get a call back from Litchfields, I called then months ago to enquire about work on the engine. I felt like they couldn't get me off the phone quick enough and all I got told was that they'd call back......5 months later and still no call from them.

It's obvious that if it isn't a GTR then they aren't interested in your custom anymore.

Blue bat overlays are what I used on my hatch.

I've been known to fit a few sets quite easilly, but does require patience

You can always talk to Powerstation about two miles down the road from them. Top bunch there!

For the clear rear light, is there somewhere you can buy them one their own? Or do I need a new cluster. I think the look great

You need the rear hatch unit, you can order from Revolution or give Rob84 on here a shout.

No worries. As much as the Americans love to **** their cars up they do have a lotcof good things you can do to them!

Yeah it's what it's cost me in total too, though it's taking me a lot of time to get these rear lights actually sorted?

I can imagine it is a tricky job, however I know a very good vinyl man so I think he will be getting a knock on the door! I'll keep you posted when I finally get round to it

Just bought my hatch today and it has the clear rear lights . 2 plus years on from the last post is there any new ways of doing this? Don't fancy doing the film myself. Who now sells the fog light bit I will need?

Subaru dealer will get you a clear foglight £70ish. Then Salsa-King on here sells the overlays on ebay.

Old thread I know but I've just bought overlays from salsaking. Did you guys buy a 7443 red t20 bulb on the red overlays with clear cut outs ?. There's 2 variants I've found but wasn't sure on which one too buy.
