Default After market Warranty

I know a great deal of you who visit this forum have modified their cars to the extent that a warranty for your car is not an option. At the moment I am now running in my shortblock after big end failure on No1 piston and I have been given a 3 year 30k Subaru warranty for those parts. Anyone out there managed to get a decent price for an aftermarket warranty? If so who did you use and how much?

Urban, you may be right......

Research...... I have been quoted by a couple of firms in the region of £1,000 and I was interested if the membership could give me the benefit of their advice!

Put it this way - I know someone that had a policy with warranty direct.
He put in a claim, but warranty direct said that he had to pay to have the fault inspected, and if it turned out that the part was genuinely faulty, then they would cover the costs of ay time and materials.

Yes, this seems to be standard practice from my personal experiance with a Subaru extended warranty (autodirect) which was another reason why I was unhappy with the dealership carrying out the repair work who took so long to get the job approved under the warranty.
