Hi everyone
Hi all, new to the scooby scene, after owning mainly audi's in the past, last one being a 98 s4 2.7 twin turbo I've decided to try these motors out, just got my self a new project, a 2001 bug eye wrx. Love the car but I'm looking forward to getting a bit more power out of her.
Seems this is the place to be to get all the assistance I need.

Cheers blackvenom, I'm looking at around 300bhp, I'm thinking sti intercooler, injectors (probably pink ones) induction kit, and probably a bigger turbo, then get it remapped, the Audi was running 300 bhp with rs4 turbos, induction kit full stainless exhaust and remap, but after a bit of a incident with a post it got written of is there any other things I should add to get to the 300bhp mark

Thanks kedlestone, I think 330 would be the max I want really, I will be using it as a everyday car when I'm not using my van so I think anything more would get me into a bit of trouble, I do love the car though, it's done 90k miles had all belts done and I'm going to service it next weekend wich is another question, what plugs would everyone recommend on these engines? I'm thinking ngk pfr7bs but what's everyone's opinion?

You don't need pinks for that mate, your yellow will be fine at 300, wouldn't bother with induction, a panel filter will be fine for anything sub 400 unless you went for a fmic (again not needed), your tdo4 will max about 280 (can be pushed but it's not really good for it). For 300 my shopping list would be, k&n pannel filter, vf28 turbo (or vf34/35) ngk pf6bs, silicon y pipe for Intercooler, decated exhaust and a remap. 300 makes a nice road car.

I'm more clued up on classics but you I'm sure the core size is similar on the newages, I know it's advisable to use the sti undertray when swapping the intercoolers. I would upgrade Personaly for looks but I couldn't stay if you would notice any difference. I guess it can't be any worse. For 300bhp I'm sure it won't need doing. You will find most subaru owners plan for 300 then up it to 320 then again to 350, this is when the expensive items need changing
