Default Cylinder misfire or not ?

Hi guys need some help please !

I have a 2001 wrx bugeye, I have got the engine light flashing at me when driving but when the car is ticking over the light stays on and the car is shaking on tick over.

I got misfire on cylinder 3 so I changed the coil pack over with cylinder 1 cleared the codes.

Now the same thing has happened so plugged it in now I have misfire on cylinder 2 ! I did change no.2 coil pack about 6months ago as I had a misfire back then and has been fine until now.

So what do you guys think ? Do I move no.2 coil pack with no.4 to see what happens ?

Please tell me if you guys have had this before and what you did to fix it

Many thanks.

*****update*******

I have some very sad news, my bug is very sick !

Today I had a compression test done and this was the results :

Cylinder 1 = 145 psi
Cylinder 2 = 50 psi (very low)
Cylinder 3 = 150 psi
Cylinder 4 = 140 psi

So I have not much compression on cylinder 2, I have no smoke coming out the back so this lead me to think it must be the vales.

So what do you guys think I should do, I'm thinking of buying a 2nd hand engine and doing a full rebuild of it and the putting in my car.
If I go down this road do you guys think If I buy one that's not in a good way I.e knocking or overheated do think it matters as I will be doing a full rebuild anyway.

Please let me no what you guys think is the best way

Thanks.

Hi guys,

I now have stopped driving my car as I have pure blue smoke coming out the exhaust but only on cold start up

Do you think it's best to have a full engine rebuild time ?

The outcome was the worse case you can get.

Piston no.2 was shattered, when I pulled it out the cylinder it fell in to bits.

I would post a picture for you but not sure how to.
