Classic impreza's
Been moocihing about and good ones seem few and far between. I bought a clio track car but have an itch for yet another impreza. I guess just keep mooching on here?

It's a shame so many decent are being broken, as with any car there seems a few "dogs" about. Still think a decent classic is good value for money, makes a decent road car. I would say there are better track cars.

What clio did you get for the track? Had 3 myself when I first passed my test, had a mk1 16v, should have never sold it, haven't seen another on the road in a while

Yea the problem is it's actually a lot of the good ones that get broken (certainly modified ones anyway) and the rubbish ones which don't! The fact is a decent classic is still worth more in parts.
With such a massive focus on economy these days combined with ever rising fuel prices, Impreza's for many who would have considered them years ago are now no longer viable, with high service costs and poor consumption. So the demand just isn't there. Especially in a 2-3k price bracket.

oh yea i'd say, I've got a 1997 uk turbo, 96k, 2 owners from new, last for 10 years first for 5 years, basically original bar eibach springs, magnex exhaust and uprated brakes, all receipts from new, every service done on time if not before (oil changed every six months without fail), a massive spreadsheet detailing every service, and when I got it all belts and all fluids had just been changed, also has a cat 1 alarm, tracker etc, I paid £2250 for it, which to many people would say is too much, shows you where the market is!

£2500 will get you a fairly decent UK Turbo these days. There are also some nice WRX models for that money. Have a browse on eBay etc, plenty to choose from....
