SVA Imports Dover Good or Bad??
Hi I am in the process of buying a type R sti version 5 from SVA imports.
I am generally happy with the deal and I am due to collect the car in the next week or so. I am told they are waiting for DVLA to register it.
However I have just been told that SVA buy damaged cars in Japan, repair them here and sell them on. A rumour that apparently came from this site?
Has anyone dealt with SVA?
Any comments appreciated and specifically if anyone knows how to check the condition of the car it was imported in.
Thank you.

Last time I went there, there was one car on their forecourt I'd be happy to own. The rest all had bad paint repairs and wear way beyond their 'mileage'
Went with a mate who wanted an sti wagon and they were both rough. Thing is, they were mega money too. You see the price and think they must be minters.
Trouble is, a lot of people don't seem to notice poor paintwork repairs. My mate just stood back and was like "that's nice" and I'm then like "wtf, look at it!"
If they were all good value then I wouldn't be so critical, but their prices seem to hint at their stock being really clean cars.

There's a member on there from sva.....John , he used to own evo breakers.
Google them for a unbiased opinion would be my thought
I have also heard a fair whack of the cars have had 'a little tlc' upon arriving
But you never know

I bought a blob WRX from them many years back. It was actually in very good nick but they had botched the HID lamps to get through the SVA test - I kept having to go back until they put the original lamps back.
I then went to try and buy a blob STi but they just weren't interested...weird customer focus it must be said
Never bothered after that - drove all the way up to see David at API and bought one of his cars despite SVA being on the doorstep.

Just had a look at a few websites (including a teg one) and almost all the comments are the same - pricey cars, poor customer service and/or not quite as advertised, with a few satisfied customers.
That's the problem with us humans I suppose. Giving praise isn't standard but any issues and straight onto the Internet is.
For me, just one car, coupled with an instance of poor customer service, is one too many for me.
I'd suggest being very cautious with this, almost top the point of being very fussy.
Hope it goes well for you.

Their cars seem massively over priced when I have looked. For the money you are spending, of pay a friendly mechanic to go and do a proper inspection. If they don't like it then walk away.
