Very nice Dan. Just need the walnut dash trim now

I'm waiting for AVO to run their yearly discount as I like the look of some of their DAMD wheels.

Yeh you may need a flat blade screwdriver as they are hard to pop off.

That looks nice.
The only thing I always worry about is the Alcantara grip area... as they do go tatty quickly unless you wear glove to drive.

But a good steering wheel does liven up the interior, and it is a part that you touch every time you drive the car.

I assume you keep your own airbag?

And is that wheel thicker than the standard one?

And how do you get a price?

Easy enough to fit?
What do you think of the workmanship on a whole?

Does alcantara wear then? I thought it was harder wearing than say suede?

its a facelift blob/hawkeye one.

im not 100% sure but I think the wheel is the same on all blobs/hawk sti's just a different airbag.

first time I have driven the car properly was this morning and it is slightly thicker now its been retrimmed but feels great especially the alcantara part.

Did you use the retrimmers web page to send your requirements?

I did this last week but have had no replies.

Alcantara soak up oil from your hand, and it turn to a shiny tatty finish.
If you are wearing race glove (what Alcantara are design to used with), then it last quite well.

That was one of the main drawback when I was thinking about re-trimming my steering wheel.
Many people say Alcantara looks nice and feel nicer than leather, but only when new.

Even manufacturer like BMW and Audi were getting problem and was replacing optional Alcantara steering wheel back to leather under warranty because they just got too tatty too quickly.

People say the long as you wash your hand before you drive then it last okay also, but I haven't had a Alcantara steering wheel personally to comment.
