how to make it quicker ?
hi peeps. got an 03 impreza turbo. its all standard and says its running at 220 bhp ? the question I would like to now were do I go from here ? I no ill get nothing but remap replies which in fair I will do at a later date but don't I need to do some things to it first ? which is cost affective but has massive gains ? ive orders some auxiliary pipes and rad pipes for piece of mind
is there such a thing as putting a bigger chip in it ?
turning the pressure up on the turbo ?
anything else pls let me no
if you could shed some light on this for me ( people who know ) many thanx

There's a few about.
Do you know what is in it?
Without going into - or opening up - a can of worms, put simply some software allows for far more facilities - anti-lag, launch control, and more than one map.
Just an example - Ecutek is a very popular brand. If your car already has it them it's about £350 or so for remapping or if you haven't then there's a £150 one-off licence fee to pay on top.
The best thing is to look at all the advice you'll be given and take that into account when you decide how far you want to go, because the farther and faster you want it to go the more expensive it is.
Best to get most of it done in one go, even if you have to wait a little longer, because it saves remapping every time.
You'll find a very well regarded specialist within reasonable distance of wherever you are ( there's that many). Possibly run things through with them once you''ve been given an idea of what can be done, and how to go about it from posts which are sure to follow.
Oh - and welcome to the community

Hi there
From personal experience,I would invest rather money to suspension bits like ARB's,Roll Centre/Bump steer mod kit and good wheel alignment
Second bit what I would upgrade are brakes, better pads with good discs, braided lines and good fluid
About unleashing the more power,as above full decat exhaust including DP and Up pipe(STI Up pipe can be bought for £40),PFR7B spark plugs, panel filter and stay away at your BHP level from Induction kit
For those above mods you will need remap, depends where are you located and you can go route EcuTek(£550 excluding VAT) or Open Source(£250),both will give you same results, just difference is in the SW used and licence

Save your money and do what jura said re brakes and handling, Ive just sorted my alignment and it's transformed the handling, goes exactly where I point it now, still needs tweeking a bit but it's much more drivable, best £30 i've spent in a while, not good for fuel consumption though.
