Twist the little pin that comes out the clocks when stationary you will see the digital clock start to count up through the rpm stop where you want it. I never had mine set tbh

Pointless gimmick imo. If your giving it the beans you should be looking where you're going not at the rev counter for a little red light. The light is not big or bright enough to see it without looking at it and the buzzer is not audible over the engine noise. I don't need a stupid light to tell me what revs im doing. I can hear that with my ears and feel it through the seat of my pants.

It beeps??? You must be right I've never heard it! Think my house needs repointing though after starting the car down the side and shaking all the muck out!

Hi Lee,

Mine is set at 5k light and buzzer, by the time you change up rev counter is on 6k anyway, flat floor shifting is a different matter though

I got a blitz Nur Spec system on mine and I can here the buzzer just fine..!

Although if i'am driving in anger I just take no notice...

I set mine at 5k. That way, even if you're a little slow changing gears, you'll keep away from the redline, by which point, your starting to run out of puff. So much torque down the rev range on the 2.5 that there's no point going near, yet along bouncing off the limiter

Mine's at 7,200 (but it is a JDM ).

Imo 85-90% of redline is about right. It gives time to react and change before getting too close.

Before I knew/got used to the car I went to 7,9-something-or-other.

Most cars should be delivering useable power at 85% I'd have thought, and ALL scooby drivers have reactions quicker than a slug on valium.

if you need a red light to tell you when you need to change gear you might as well have a micra.

This is the first one I've had with GCDA.

In my others it used to be something like:

* 1st - change before "Two thousand"
* Reset
* 2nd - change just after "Two thousand"
* Reset
* 3rd - change just after "Three thousand"
* Reset
* 4th - change on "Five thousand"
* Reset
* 5th - stop counting.
