Hello mate.
Try and look for a TEK 1 or TEK 2 ecu which were off he shelf from Ecutek. That's what I did with mine.

You dont say what year your 2000 is but I think the Y7 is from a 1999/2000.

2 or 3 options.

1. Get a Y7 ecu with an ECUtek licence on it for about £100. A mapper will then charge £250 to map it and you'll see 260-280bhp

2. Have a look for an "SP" ecu from a 99/00. This is the prodrive performance pack ecu and will see a nice increase in power to around 260 but may require an sti intercooler and better exhaust.

3. Aftermarket ecu or wait for ESL to be available for 99/00 cars, but these are expensive options (£500+)

OP.

Your current ecu is mappable, you do not need to change your ecu

Use the search button to learn about whats needed before mapping and then speak to a reputable impreza tuner about your mapping options.

Like the old saying goes, a little bit of knowledge is dangerous. There is no reason to change an ecu on any impreza.
