Subaru Specialists in Teesside???
Hi All,
Hi there,
I was due to get my car (modified blobeye with 317bhp) MOT'd by Eclipse Performance in Sunderland tomorrow. I've just found out today that they've gone bust and shut up shop.
I've only had the car 7 months and when I bought it the guy said that I would have a struggle getting it through its MOT due to the emissions but he did give me the original silencer and air filter/box. I think the exhaust system which is on the car now probably doesn't have a catalytic converter (yes, I am quite clueless!!!)
I also need new discs and pads all-round (not standard Impreza ones, something with a bit more bite.)
I don't want to go to main stream Subaru dealers who will charge the earth and probably only fit standard Subaru parts anyway and won't know how to deal 'sympathetically' to a modified car.
Can you recommend anywhere in Teesside or surrounding area? I've heard there is somebody on Hartlepool but I'm struggling to find them.
Any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated.

I got all exited there, I though Alyn had suddenly become local!

A big thank you to Jazzyjembreaze, Midlife and Qwertyco. Each one of you has just guaranteed your place in heaven for goods deeds to a traumatised Scooby owner
This AS Performance chap has been mentioned to me by 3 separate people now. So that's where my new discs and pads will be coming from.
As for the MOT's, there's hope on that front too. As long as their emissions tester is broken and the MOT tester is blind!!!

And also a big thank you to nyscooby. I definitely don't have 70k to spend so Revolution is out of the question. But that's another mention for Alyn S in Birtley. But thankfully, I now have several options to consider (as opposed to breaking the car for spares, which is where my head was this afternoon!!!)
