04 sti rear diff oil

Some STI rear diffs prefer LS oil. Best check your owners manual on this.
I bought some diff oil using a well known sites automated recommendation and it was a bit of a disaster to say the least.

Hhhmm. Know what you mean. "That" website doesn't suggest the 90pa, but going through past posts on here, that's what people use. I'm confused to say the least.

I have an 06 STI which has a "mechanical plated" LSD and I use Titan LS 90 diff oil which works fine.
I tried the Fuchs Titan Race SYN 5 75W-90 Fully Synthetic Gear Oil as recommended and it seemed like my rear diff wanted to tear itself to pieces.
When I checked my manual, it specified an LS 90, so I went for that one.
I think some diffs need an LS type and some don't mind, so my advice would be to find out if you diff is the type that has a preference.
The gearbox/front diff setup on my car is perfectly happy using Fuchs Titan Race SYN 5 75W-90 Fully Synthetic Gear Oil, so it is only the rear diff that may have a preference.
Hope this helps.
