Hi all finally went ahead and bought my first Impreza wrx sti everything was fine for a couple of months then developed a knocking bottom end stopped the car to avoid damaging the crank excessively so my question who's good to do the job and how much did they charge has anyone used eclipse performance in Sunderland before if so how did you find them? Its either rebuild or buy a replacement second hand but then you have no idea what your getting! All input greatfully accepted

Well having had the same thing happen to me 2 months ago, I can highly recommend Pole Position in Wolverhampton but they probably a little far from you, saying that they did collect my car for me and did all the work.. top job as well

Research on here about them. The horror stories are unreal!! Am from Newcastle and none of the local lads I no would let them blow there tyres up. You must be from the northeast join nesf some very repeatable mechanics on there more than capable of rebuilding ur engine.

You have to make the decision yourself.

I highly recommend visiting the specialists suggested already (Bar eclipse as what i've read and heard). Visit each one and sit down, chat and have a look around. You'll then know you've made the right choice.

We all have our favorites (Personally Engine tuner all the way for me and its a 6 hour drive) but you wont be happy till you've spoke to them all.

p.s - Like above - do your research!!!!

I used WMS Racing and they did a fantastic job. Had it trailered from leeds and picked it up, just over an hour away.

I have used both and very happy with the work. Join NESF and ask the question. As stated before DO NOT USE ECLIPSE. Never used AS performance but only ever been told good things about there work.

Thanks everyone for all your input on the problem too many people saying don't use eclipse so think I had better start saving to take it somewhere else
