If you had an idea for an aftermarket part for Impreza's would you just share it or would you try to make a little money from it?

I think it will sell, but it's not something I can make myself. It's something I want, so would assume some others would as well.

If I were you, I'd keep my mouth shut about it.

Scissor jacks are good for splitting blocks though.

Is it commercial
Is it pocket money prices
Is th similar designs on the market
Can you get it in Amazon/tesco /Asda /Halfrauds

Can the chinese make it cheaper

If yes
Don't bother
If the answer is NO
Might be a goer
But select ten mixed people on here for a proper discussion and survey

But why has no one else thought of it
Over priced tat in the shopping channel and BQ on DVD players never work
They normally end up in Markets being demonstrated
Then in /nm bargains then eventually pound land

Tell me more

A bit complex this one could be.

If it's something for which you think there could be a big market you'd be better off entering into a legally-binding agreement with a company who could make and market it.

The first thing you need to do though is to do a precise drawing and description of it, even a mock-up if possible, so that you have copyright. That gives you basic protection (won't stop anyone else using a modified version though but they mustn't get too close to your original).

If it extends the boundaries of current technology you can apply for a Patent.

Hopefully you can see that there's a lot of legal bits and pieces to protect your idea and money.

This isn't going to change the world, it's only a modification on something that already exists so patents may be a problem. And it's limited to Subaru's, because its definately done for other marques, just for some strange reason never on Subaru's.

I've approached a company now, and they have agreed to sign a non-disclosure
