bubbles in header tank
Having a dilemma as I dont no what to think
Getting a gluging /sloshing noise from the back of my dash
No ive bled the system twice
But im still getting lots of tiny bubbles in the ht when running with the cap off
Nit as bad now ive bled it this morn but its still doing it
No sloshing noise but give it 5 or 6 days and itll start again
Car has done 121k and has full sevice and records of timming belt plus other things
But no records of it ever having it having its head gaskets replaced
Bled it up by running the car with the cap off till the fan kicked in
Loads of tiny bubbles then just before the fan started two or three big bubbles were expelled
Left to cool then topped up

Is this a classic?
Exactly the same started happening to my JDM WRX.
Does it (or watch out for) rapid overheat ie. Temp guage goes mad after 10-20 mins, then further down the road drops back to normal before becoming rabid again?
Then BIG gulps into the header tank (cap removed) ?
If so, HG replacement time I'm afraid.

I've heard mixed reports about the reliability of those kinds of test.
Easy way to measure HG issues is by seeing your expansion tank fill up when you give some boost.
Is your expansion tank level higher than normal, after giving it some?

Loads of pin ***** bubbles when ticking over
When you rev it the header tank just turns in to a mass of tiny bubbles the it just spits it all out when the revs drop
The car stinks of coolant when in traffic as well but it never over heats

Since you originally said that there's no record of a HG change I'd say you wouldn't be wasting your money on having it done.
Also, if you do sell the car within the next 30k miles or so, the buyer will be more reassured that they've got one that isn't going to 'go wrong' soon after purchase.
