How to make 175bhp/ton on my V2 Sti ????
Hi guys.
As title says, is it possible to downgrade the power on my Sti ?
I've got a chipped (Major_Sarcasm) V2 Sti running approx 300bhp (hoping) and want to take a place in Track Day Trophy, the only problem is that my car even with standard 280bhp is too powerful. Max power allowed is 175bhp/ton which means I will have to downgrade the power and add some weight as well !!!
How can I do it ?
According to torque calculator to meet this criteria my car should weigh around 1300kgs and running something around 225bhp.
Thank You

Hi Matt.
I wish it was that simple :-(
Apparently, they're very strict. They require a dyno proof from one of 2 power stations they are dealing with. Every car need to have a roll cage, rev limiter, restrictor etc.
As for adding weight, it is not just, as you said, putting some weights in the boot.
Have a look http://www.trackdaytrophy.co.uk/requirements/a-car.aspx

have you had it caged yet? they weigh a good whack!
imo id get your car corner weighted so you know exactly what it does weigh and go from there.
if you use the car for other things then id maybe look at just adding ballast that can be removed should you wish.
eat more pies??

Yes, car is already caged. OMP Bolt In.
I will go to my local scrap yard later this afternoon to weigh the car but as far as I know Classic Imports are something around 1150kgs and cage doesn't really weigh that much TBH. Well, will see.
Cheers

I just read the Trackday trophy regs and it say's that the power will be measured at the hubs, that will surely make quite a big difference. I'm sure most people talk about flywheel bhp.
