Default Type R/Classic scoob help. Again.

Few things though could again be stupid questions as I cant find much relating to these questions when using the search.

Do all the EJ20 engines make like a whiney droney noise when operating? The main points being :

1. Speedo clocks. When lights are on and the Revs and Mph are illuminated green the fuel and temp are not. Is this normal or faulty bulb/defective dash?

2. Noises. Sounds like a grinding noise tbh whilst im driving the noise goes away when coasting in neutral. more drawn towards the gearbox. It feels fine and gets into gear fine and pulls away ok

1: sounds like faulty bulb as they should all light up as below

2: Have you got the DCCD set to fully open, if you look at the pic above it should be on the bottom green light

Hi Banny sorry for the late reply and thanks for help so far.
Miraculously the lights are now working on the fuel and temp gauges dunno how but stranger things have happened!
With regards to the grinding noise it happens in all gears and in any setting on the DCCD. It mainly is noticeable on deceleration. Ive done some digging now and a lot of people are complaining of this on Exedy clutches (which I have). So starting to just think thats just the way it is although it does sound horrible like as though the gearbox is full of stones or something. A friend of mine who works on these cars alot said it could be the spigot bearing in the flywheel? Do not know tbh.
