Im half way to restoring my version 1 sti 59/200. engine is superb and now im left with the body work. I just wanted to know whether its worth spending money on restoring it and ending with peanuts or wheter its something i should continue and worth keeping. itl set me back in total of £2000 restoring it including the purchase of the car and adding on road tax. should i bail out or finish it off ? ? ?

Restore and make sure everything is restored to standard form. Version 1's are getting quite rare

Restore it when you bought the car, you must of had a idea of work that was involved you have gone so far so carry on and smile from ear to ear once it's finished and your owning a piece of history I know my wagon has cost me silly money and at times I do feel like walking away but once a drive it, I'm in love again so carry on mate

Prices are low at the moment, but you never know what will happen. If your already half way through I would stick if out. You should post some photos. I would suggest keeping it as oem as possible.

I'd say finish it, as above they are getting quite rare now and will be worth a few quid in the not too distant future.

And lol at adding the cost of road tax.

Keep it standard.

There's a very recent thread about Impreza prices.

I'd second all the comments on here and also add that you'd get nowhere near your outlay with the car 'as is' but you'd get a pretty fair return if it was useable, certainly cutting your losses a fair bit at the very least.
