Default Nooby Q. Gauges explained

Hi there,

could someone please explain the hole gauge malarky.

thinking of getting soome for my newly bought WRX STI, from what ive been reading will prob go for boost, oil pressure and oil temp.

my real question is about the controller units or senders that go with them.

being a complete nooby, i just assumed i get three gauges, take them to a garage (rather not f**k about with somthing i know little about) and they connect a sensor to the relevent parts in the engine to the guages and job done. now im actually looking at it, there seems to be sender units / control units ect.

if someone could break down all the parts i need it would be very heplful, also description if applicable but wont be to greddy lol.

thanks in advance.

Ross

Depending on what you buy depends on what you get.

You'll need and oil pressure sender and temp but can be done with a sandwich plate.

Best off find a garage who supplies and fits. Defis are the preferred choice but i doubt you'll find a garage that supplies and fits.

A popular and much cheaper option would be prosport.

Might be worth speaking to subaru4you or if you want to buy second hand and find somewhere to fit you could try fbtuning or slowboy racing which are both in your area.

Might be best to do it at service time depending on what option you go for.
