Default SMELL OF GAS

Hi everybody recently down sized in power by selling my Subaru wrx 1995 classic 302 bhp and bought a Subaru impreza rx 150 bhp 60 plate.My question is when I stop at junctions or traffic lights a strong smell of gas (not petrol)comes from the air vent. ta

Tried cleaning the cabin air filter?

Are you losing any coolant? Anything like mayonnaise down the filler, or overflow necks?

Are you sure it's not gear oil you can smell?

It could just be exhaust gas,some cars give off an eggy smell from the cat,normally after reversing.
