Question Anti stone chip film - any good?

Thinking of having this on bonnet and front panel of a new car. Wondering if it actually works for one thing and also if it shows against the rest of the car, can it be polished and does it come off if needed?

Anyone got any experiences of it?

Been thinking of this myself.

I've had a quote from Paintshield in Peterborough, who seem to have a lot of good words said about them on The Net, a lot of them from TVR owners.

£1,400+VAT for a 'full frontal' ( bonnet, front wings & front) for a Hawk.
A partial (most susceptible areas) was £675+VAT.

A 4-year warranty with the work.

I had it on my hawkeye. Totally eradicated stone chips on the bonnet and in fact the car was unmarked after 7 years. I am getting it done on my new car, so i am a convert .

Yes, you cant really see it, unless you know where to look. It polishes up the same as the rest of the car. mine was "Defendall"

They're based in Perth am I right?

Any savings would be obliterated by fuel costs from here in the S Wales Valleys !

Pity - nothing better than a recommendation based on personal experience.

My dad had this done on his TVR and yes it works! But you can notice it when you look close at the edges.

dropped the car off and was very impressed with what tony said he would do
everything will be machine cut no trimming of edges
he is using mine as a template (blob sti)and designing a kit as 3m dont have models for cars <08

so i will be getting a few extra bits done on mine that will be available as a extra to the £450 + vat kit which includes

full front bumper
head lights
approx 12 inch of bonnet and wings
door mirrors

I enquired at a place in manchester about this and was told that there would be no guarantee, for the life of the stuff and that removal will be safe if it wasn't the original factory paintwork. This isn't too good for me as I need my bumper and bonnet respraying before it would be worth applying. He did say it 'should be ok' but no guarantee.

Thanks.

I've just emailed them for a quote for a Hawk 'full-frontal'.
Was it the Solihull branch you went to?
