Talking Help - Changing my car

Guys/Girls need your help. I have had my Hawkeye STi now for 7 years and think it must be time to change. The only car I kept longer was my RB5 for 7 1/2 years.

Anyway been looking and here is what I am thinking of, and have priced up:

1) pre-reg 13reg Sedan with 340r pack and wing in Plasma Blue from a dealer I haven't used before.
2) new unreg Sedan with 340r pack and wing in Spark Silver from my favourite dealer.

Questions:

A) should i change? If so why?
B) if I change what colour?
C) should i be considering something else?

Currently I think i should push the button on the Plasma blue but I need the greater support of scoobynet first

I have given this some thought and i have also looked at the Mercedes CLA 45 AMG and considered the new Audi RS3 but my opinion is that both these cars will be 10 K more than my current deal, amd possibly more as my own car wiull have depreciated more in the meantime.

I am also worried that the new WRX may have the same headroom as a BRZ which is too low for me at 6' 2. My hair brushes against the ceiling which would drive me daft in time.

However, if we consider new WRX would be suitable then trading in a Subaru for a Subaru is never a problem, itw when you go cross network that you lose a lot of money.

The Mercedes has the arm rest right where my knee sits, so again i fdont think i could fork out for the car whne its going to give me a sore knee.

Then if we consider the merits of the Subaru and look elsewhere on current available models, it isnt to be found.

My car is 7 years old, if anything fails it will be expensive to fix, isnt it better to put some money into a new car?

If you have any doubts, don't it! Make sure you feel 100% happy with it to start with.
Personally I would probably choose blue over silver, but then I would choose black or white over either of the other colours

Thats actually quite helpful. However,

black - not going there again
white - might go there again someday

There also was the dark silver but the Plasma blue was better

Regarding doubts - I dont have any doubts about reliability or the car is what i need. The same formula has worked for me since 1997 so that is a no brainer.

That was supposed to read "if you have any doubts then don't get it!"
Doubt wise was more because you were saying about head room, arm rest etc not for reliability.
Silver is so common, the new Red I do believe

Black looks lovely and can be very stealthy looking and white is just very sexy looking on the right cars

Got it! Black looks good until it gets scratched

White i like, but needs a lot of washing, in fact the Spark Silver is very like white in bright light

Have you given any thought to getting a red 1. I think it looks great in red.

Possible repair cost vs definite depreciation needs to also be considered?

But if you have an itch for a new car then that itch needs to be scratched.

I dont think the saloon or hatch look as good in red as other colours. I am not against red, but not for these cars. I think smaller cars look good in red so could be a size issue (in my mind)

my thoughts Beastie:

A) should i change? If so why?
--> You've got the 7-year itch mate! So don't feel embarassed about it. ;>

B) if I change what colour?
--> Is there a gun-metal grey?

C) should i be considering something else?
--> don't want to blaspheme, but how about an Evo 9 MR FQ-360??

A) Ive got an itch

B) There is a gun metal grey available, which we swithered on, but we decided Plasma Blue was better.

C) Well the Subaru will be new with new warranty. An Evo 9 will be used and i hate to say but even worse on fuel and it needs twice as much servicing.
