Whats the forum rules about naming and shaming a chump that builds engines?
Theres a guy kicking about building engines/gearboxes and mapping in the south yorkshire area, a few people know to avoid already, but its recently coming to light the extent of his corner cutting and shoddyness ..... forums are good for spreading the word about places to avoid, this guy is DEFINATELY one of them ..... shoddy corner cutting to the extent of being downright dangerous.
If your having work done in the South Yorkshire area theres a name that should be avoided at all costs.

I personally think naming and shaming is a good thing. We are all like minded enthusiasts and it benifits us to hear stories about business's we may use.
I say speak freely chap, the mods aren't bothered about traders on here ripping people off so can't see them being to interested in name dropping.

Yeah right, they don't give a **** about you obviously, but they do give a **** about SNet (ultimately IB) getting sued for libel and as such any naming and shaming by users is swiftly removed

Im not going to sling any mud or make up any ****e, just want people to be aware that this guys sloppy standards have left me massively out of pocket (with bills looming to fix his mistakes).
Some of his work wasnt just sloppy, but dangerous! Which would be bad enough if it was just a track car, but when its the daily that the wife occasionally uses its a different thing again!

So long as the person naming and shaming is a direct customer. And they give a proper account of their issues in a formal, well mannered post. Then its likely the thread will remain.
When people start slinging mud, being abusive or just being overly critical for no reason other than they don't "like" a company or "heard" this about them or "their mate" was stitched up by them, then it is usually is locked or deleted. The same will happen if we get legal threats from a formal body.
Officially though its "no name and shame allowed".

I only know of one iffy authorised advertiser which as far as I know has made good all of his complaints. And sadly until we get multiple complaints from different sources to confirm that this is not the case, nothing will be done.
Also nobody uses iTrader anywhere near enough...which doesn't help us or anyone else one bit. If people were actually bothered about other people being ripped off, they'd use iTrader to leave negative feedback, then the bad sellers would stick out like a sore thumb. iTrader is supposed to help you, but only if people use it. Too many don't which is pretty selfish IMO

Reporting the matter to Trading Standards is a useful weapon.
They collate all complaints as well.
Do you have a 'Ferret'-type TV programme up there?
(It's the name of a Watchgog-like weekly programme, on our regional TV channels).
From what I can see of it there's a few that have posted and could well report it.

Please inform one of us or Stu if a AUTHORISED ADVERTISER has done this. We can't be interested in something we are not aware of.

Just one example of a clown who's allowed to sell on here. ........

How many upset customers does it take ?? Basing your judgement on itrader feedback is pointless because half the people on here don't use it. Threads like this one are what matters, and when multiple members (paying or otherwise) post up their stories of difficulty then the mods need to step in. In my own opinion ofcourse.....

So I thought...everyone with a issue either had their parts or were refunded.
I'm not making excuses, but being refunded isn't being ripped off. You're post implied someone was at large not making good customer issues. AFAIK this person has made good the outlined issues.
If he hasn't and something new has cropped up we need to know.
And STILL only one negative itrader feedback. SN users are to blame for that. And because of that it makes mods powerless as we have nothing to give to Stu to action upon. Bar a thread with some people ranting in that can easily be lost or fogotten about (iTrader is permanent and easily accessed).
Remember, I have zero say in who becomes a trader on here nor do I have the ability to remove their trade status (only infractions for when they start throwing handbags between other traders and even their its a contentious issue ). I can only pass messages on to those who can do that.
But with a near perfect iTrader record its hard to prove my case.
Remember name and shame threads usually only show a accused person up in a negative light and only the most respected of traders will get users defending them (even when sometimes the trader was at fault). iTrader cuts out this bull crap. Makes it much easier to get the point across without dissecting a 10+ page name and shame thread.
Bottom line; if people don't use itrader against a rogue user/trader, SN is far less likely to do anything about it. Thats just the way it is.

Click on the number beside where it says "trader score" below their user name. Then you will be asked to leave feedback similar to Ebay .
Only problem i see , is that you can leave feedback wether u bought anything or not. Has a possibility of exploitation , if someone was so inclined.
