Default Thinking of buying a Version 5 Sti

But what are they worth?

Seen a 1999 in white, 80,000ish miles, completely standard apart from a forge dump valve, lowered and a stainless exhaust. No rust, minimal wear on the interior etc. Its not been mapped, wheels are standard 16" gold, seems pretty genuine.

I'm thinking of making an offer on it but need to know what sort of value these are worth to avoid offending the seller.

Is £3000 too low?

Is it running a VTA dumpvalve? Or is it a Forge recirculating type?

its only worth what your willing to pay for it,is that the model you WANT? you say no rust? ? ? have you inspected it underneath? its a 14 year old car so i would be under it poking about for a start. i would say roughly £3k is a good price as you can get bug sti's for £4k which are 3 years newer but alot uglier has it been looked after by a specialist? if so-who?

Check the rear inner wings (arches) inside the boot as well.
The bushes will be starting to go.
Lowered ?
Not Mapped?

After talking to the owner (ive not seen the car yet) there seems to be a definite lack of service history, paperwork etc and the owner knows little about the car. This is why I was asking if 3k is a bargain, or about right.

This is it

Pretty poor advert and doesn't have SCDB as stated.
Paperwork is very important on these and a lack of it would be enough to put me off.

Get a health test done on it before offering a penny

Looks about right given the age, I wouldn't worry too much about jap service history, BUT I would wan't to know whats gone one with it since 2006 and if that info was lacking i'd walk away.

Never been mapped for uk fuel would also put me off, ticking time bomb IMO.

its my old car sorry to **** on your bonfire but it was imported 2006 SVA tested in 06 with 60,000km it was imported by Torque of Keighley they converted it into mph the speedo counts miles not km's and has done since reading 60k from what i established its a good car completely standard its had 3 port boost mod done & decat thats it the Fuel cut hits in 5th up a hill but i think that was because it needed mapping the lad before me decatted it i never gave it a hard life its been owned by older people as i had it off a 40year old who hadowned it for some time

it was allegedly rebuilt by central subaru in 2011 but not so sure couldnt get a recipt

i only got rid because it started loosing lots of oil & water like a half litre of oil to a tank of fuel :s and it started blowing blue smoke i think the rings are past their sell by date in my opinion hence why i moved on to a bug eye

i used vpower in it always so did the old chap i had it off or momentum 99 the prat who had it off me told me prob hasnt tho
