genuine bugeye sti?
Hi im going to look at a impreza 2002 on a 51 plate,its a bugeye wrx sti in wrc blue.
It sounded genuine,it has the highline rear spoiler,the front bumper looks right and its listed to have a prodrive ecu.
I've done some research and it doesn't have a roof vent or rear wiper so its not jdm. So im thinking great i have found bugeye type uk sti with ppp and its under my budget of 3k. Thing is all the info i have found says that all bugeye sti's have blue seats and this one has grey which makes me suspicious.
I know some of the things i need to look out for,redtop engine,blue dials,and i guess the logbook which i know doesn't always tell the true story.
I would be very greatful for Any info on what else to look out for to tell it apart from a standard wrx

STI's should come with:
Brembos front and rear
Six speed gear box so look at the gear stick
The dials has a lil light in the middle of the rev counter
red inlet manifold
sti top mount intercooler
blue/black seats
black projector headlights
either a back box with sti written on it or prodrive (if standard)
bigger bonnet scoop

Not sure if its what your looking for but I have a 2002 JDM STI that I dont have time to enjoy (second car) thinking of selling it but its a pretty specialist car these days so im hesitant with the hassle and potential nightmares that come with selling such a machine due to some of the less desirable's it attracts - plus i know ill miss it!
Completely standard no mods (even has the annoying limited frequency jap stereo)- MOT'd in Feb 100k on the clock (not sure how many were KMs off the top of my head). I bought it off a guy who had it since it was imported to the UK in 05' I think.
