Default compressor surge help!!

As above this is doing my head in.
Ive recently clocked my turbo 180deg to shortern my intercooler pipe by another 3 foot. Now ive got crazy on boost and on spool surge...the boost gauge just goes crazy.
Ive checked for leaks on the pipe work, ive replaced the manifold gaskets as ive had it off. Ive done all new exhaust gaskets just while I was at it.. but I cant stop this crazy surge.
Can anyone give me any more ideas of what to check?
My mapper has said that the work ive done should not cause this issue..

By the way im not talking about the sound of when the power is taken off..this is during spool and boost.

Thanx

When I had the same problem a map tweak fixed it. Iv also heard of of some turbos needing porting to fix it.

Your turbo intake pipe may have too large an internal diameter, surge is usually caused by the turbo providing more air than the engine can accept at that point in the rev range, reducing he intake internal diameter may help.

Ive tried it with the stock intake and it does exactly the same. Im ment to boost at 1.4 but im only peaking at 1 bar but then drops straight down to 0.5. Apart from in 5th when I cant get a reading because the gauge is going too crazy

That's not comp surge then it sounds like you have a boost control issue I guess that you have checked all your servo pipework between the turbo, wastegate and solenoid?

I have this problem, I'm changing to a 3 port solenoid and having my map tweaked soon, hoping that will fix it.

I was talking to another scooby owner who had similar issues running an avcr, he changed the setting and eliminated it, so I'm hoping it can be 'mapped' out.

Its en easy fix. Reduce the intake pipe diameter by putting a piece of silicone hose in until it goes.
I had to put 2 pieces in mine till I lost the surge.
Bid d(Iain sorted mine)
Cheers Chris

Thats exactly what ive bin talking about doing today.. It looks like because ive got 2.5" pipe all the way now and the total length of pipework is only 5ft its too efficient and delivering boost way too soon...the gear changes are way to agressive not its like this..

I was thinking about adding a small 2" section of pipework. What did you do exactly? Addingsilicone pipe??

Duncan has just finished tweaking my map, I ditched the boost controller and fitted a decent 3 port. No more surge, not a hint. On top of that its MUCH smoother.
