Default Beware of what your posting via IPOSTPARCELS / UKMail

I sold and sent my blob bonnet via UKMail...

I insured it for £250 just in case.... and it did get a slight knock during delivery.

I emailed UKMail to ask for a claim form etc and they said your not covered to send any car parts via UKMail..... told me to read the "Terms & Cond's" and the FAQ's

I read the FAQ's, no mention of not carrying car parts..... T & C's not read... too long.... should have i know!!

Anyhow, i clearly listed the items being delivered as car parts on the bbooking form and the guy who collected the bonnet could tell what it is.

Called Trading Standards (TS)... they said that UKMail are in breach of contract regardless of T&C's due to the fact i told them what they would be carrying and the driver could tell what it is... and he then took it anyway.

TS told me "Modification of T&C's resulting in breach of contract" by them regardless of their advertised T&C's

So complaint letter in post and claim pending for the damaged items.

I sent all my blob front end via UKMail and i wouldn't have if i'd known..

SO BEWARE what you post...... and who you post it with.....

Good lad!!! I'm glad to see you've chased it up. Far too many of us get done like this on a daily basis and live with it.

Keep us posted.

Don't suppose you've done a blob to hawk thread for your transformation that i've missed?

Do keep us updated on this; it'd be interesting to see the final outcome.

As a sidenote, I work in freight forwarding / logistics - we are quite "familiar" with UK Mail, let's just say that. They aren't known as the most vigilant or diligent of couriers.

Don't admit to not reading their T's & C's. You have, by way of telling them what you were posting, changed the T's C's of the contract and they have accepted it.
