I registered to this forum as suggested by a member on here
Went to wanted section replied to some posts and now, apparently banned until 2016 for treating it as eBay. What a joke, no polite email to inform me that what I was doing was wrong. Replying to a wanted thread in a positive manor and treating it as eBay an auction site, can someone explain. Been registered for less than half a day.

Did you post up a "hello" thread first? I only ask as with the amount of scammers around if someone without any history on a site pops up and starts offering parts it looks suspicious (and I would have hesitations in dealing with them) so the admins may have thought the same.

+1. NESF is a very well respected forum and they are also a very friendly and helpful lot. New members should first post in the new members section and introduce themselves and if you have them put up some pictures of your car. As said above there are too many scammers these days trawling the wanted sections and offering parts and then bumping the members. I am sure that it was precautionary and only done for the protection of the members.

MDS_WRX is 100% correct.

It was me that has banned you and this is why

Your 1st 3 posts were-

1 Offering an STI intercooler in the wanted section
2. Offering a VF34 turbocharger in the wanted section
3. Offering a front bumper in the wanted section.

The wanted section has a 20 post rule for posting offered items, if you had read the post on the top of the thread entitled "Attention new members" you would have seen this-

NEW MEMBERS,

Please be aware that there is a minimum post count of 20 posts on the forum before you can use the wanted section of this forum.

Any "wanted" items from members with less than 20 posts will be removed, no questions asked.

Thanks.

The Admin Team."

I am sure if you had read this you wouldn't have posted in the wanted section trying to sell your goods.

We get a lot of traders that register thinking they can use our forum as their own personal eBay service.

I do not have the time or patience to message every person that tries to use our forum in such a way.

Hope this clears this up for you.

Regards,

Jonny (NESF chairman)

Yep I posted in the wanted section after only one "introduction" post when I was looking for my STI and they were very understanding and helpful.

Seems a canny forum to me, infact I should probably spend more time there tbh.

I think it goes to show...as with all forums - If you are new ALWAYS read the forum rules and take note of the stickies in the section in which you post or reply to.

SN has it fair share of rules and stickies, whilst we're not as strict at enforcing them, its only because we expect people to read them and abide by them on their own intuition, so understandably I and a few other mods can get a bit abrupt towards people who haven't bothered to read them or don't pay attention to them.

I can understand NESF's viewpoint with regards to people purely using their forum just to sell stuff. Forums are communities not a online classifieds column, so to treat them as another form of ebay is bad "netiquette".

Yes Nesf is a well respected forum like Cumbrian scoobs and TTS and B-SPOC
Rules are rules are must be obeyed

Committees have responsibility to their members and rules are in place to protect them
