Default FA20 turbo - any thoughts or projects?

Given the outstanding performance of the non-turbo FA20 in the Subaru BRZ, where the engine in its stock form, has survived being turbo'd to over 400bhp for many thousands of miles and the recent introduction of a factory FA20 turbo on a 2013 legacy DIT in Japan, does anyone have any information on strengths/weaknesses, tuning parts and engine conversions to previous models ?

With my 2.0 CDB engine being over 6 years old with many abusive miles under its belt, i was thinking of refreshing/replacing it sooner rather than later. I was originally planning on rebuilding and relinering the EJ20, but is it worth polishing an old turd when something game-changing is seemingly just around the corner ?

So the question, what do you think is coming ? Is there anything planned from the big tuning companies for that engine ? Are there any projects already ongoing ? Is it something worth holding out for ?

The EJ series have been well developed over the years and so the reliability should be good. As to a new engine, it will be a development curve so personally I'd go with a refresh of what you have.
