Default Type R boot cancel latch

I don't feel this belongs in the tech. section so;
What does the little latch do on the boot that points towards cancel?
I don't want to operate it in case it stops the release lever from working. Pity Subaru didn't fit folding rear seats on the JDMs
Many thanks in advance,
Paul.

As you've guessed. It stops the boot latch release lever by the drivers seat from working! Just flicks up and down. You won't bust anything trying it!

Do any rear scoob seats fold then? None of mine ever have? Well my JDMs never did. My new ones a UK spec? Would be great if the seats go down?

Ah, I forgot about the key
To think, I've been stuck on this for days and even googled it as I was too ashamed to ask on here first
Nice one Ciaran

If the key is seized you can take the back seats out from the inside of the car and reach through your not the first and won't be the last

Split seats can be easily retro fitted from a UK car I did it to my V5 STi. All the threaded bolt holes are there on the saloons.

I have removed the rear seats on my Type R before when I managed to lock my keys in the boot. I had left the latch so it couldn't be opened from the lever beside the drivers seat - to stop thieves opening the boot easily. Now I always open it from the lever lol.
