Default ROYAL MAIL PRICE CHANGES

Just thought I'd give people a heads up, I went to post a few parcels containing parts I'd sold today and had a bit of a shock at the increase in prices!.
It seems Royal Mail have changed the way the size parcels etc, what was normally a small parcel weighing under a kilo was for me today deemed a medium parcel and the cheapest rate was a 48hr delivery costing £8 this used to be around £4-£5 pound, not a great increase I know but for multiple parcels it adds up.
The biggest shock I had was when sending 2x brembo calipers to Sweden £46 cheapest option, in a small package, weighing 4.3kg, fecking hell!! Then a set of front and rear arbs, ok granted 15kg and around 900mm in length, they wanted £86 pound for an untracked 5-6 day delivery, going up to £181 2-3 day tracked and insured!! Shocking.
Iv sold bits in the past so had a rough idea of costs but apparently as of today the sizing and pricing system has changed, hence the increase, just be careful and check before quoting any delivery costs to buyers, I didn't, stupid yep, and have landed myself out of pocket.

I got information about this price increase about a month ago, RM didn't give it much publicity for Joe Public though.

I have 4 webshops on the go and always used RM, now I'll have to go with a courier.

A parcel I normally sent for £2.70 now costs £5.65.

Same parcel to go to Germany costs only £4.50 by RM

It's a stupid situation when I can send to Europe cheaper than I can send to an address a mile away.

Price information here...

I use RM a lot in work as I sell Vauxhall parts all over the uk and world. Royal mail are pi## take, huge hike in prices but service is no better. You now can not get compension for recorded parcels if lost, I sell these grills for astra`s and they used cost me 3.31 to send recorded, now gone to 8 pound. It works out cheaper for me to send via next day courier.

Reason it cheaper to send to Germany as the uk still pay towards helping Germany after the war. Again another pi## take

I had a nasty surprise the other day too, i needed to send a turbo to essex, now normally in the past this has cost no more than a tenner, i nearly fell over when the bird behind the counter quoted me £21.

Its easier and cheaper to use courier services now, you can send pretty much anything for a tenner now.
