only one way to fix it.

respray and posiible screen out to check how far down below rubber it has gone

kwan88 has just bought an 04 sti and it had similar rust on the roof but not quite as bad. cant say ive seen many others with this issue though.

That happened to a scooby I had a couple of years ago, had to scrap car coz the rust had got all along the top where windscreen sits! Would've cost more to repair than the car was worth. Hopefully not that bad for you.

Does it leak around the windscreen?

No, no leak yet, I really think it only started to appear a few years after having windscreen replaced, whether the rubber seals used to cover it before I'm not sure

You should get it sorted before it ends up like mine did! Remove windscreen and see how much has rotted.

defo have to take the screen out. the guys that fit the windscreens have a special black liquid they paste under the seal just there that kills and prevents rust. i got a bottle of it from a mate of a mate lol. i can get the name of it tomorrow. ask around, its amazing stuff. that'll save underneath the seal (if its not rusted through yet) and where its visible you'll have to spot spray it.

When my windscreen was removed it took the whole lip it sits on with it, they refused to put a screen back coz it was dangerous! Please beware if you decide to remove your windscreen, you could end up screenless

why did you buy it if it had an obvious massive rust spot on the roof?

Echo

That could be a massive bill for you
Any other rust anywhere else
Accident damage ?
Why was the screen taken out as that would be the main cause of rust getting in ?

You really need to find out how bad it is before getting roof resprayed!
