Default Car battery flat

I know a known issue, but its stupid, I'm away on business and its been 2 weeks , cars just SMS me to say batt low, which means it won't start so just had to get airport to get it ready with aa for me tomorrow.

Anyway to actually stop it going flat other than getting tracker off the car.

Crap design if you ask me.

Got a few more 2 week trips coming cant do this all the time

Bah humbug

If you didnt want to take glove box out to find a way into the engine bay, The other way is the radio iso block. either the red or yellow wire. but volt meter would be easier to get the right wire.
There might be other ways as well but thats the ones i would use

Just pass the wires out the door/window seal and straight under the bonnet. Fine if its parked up. Obviously you wont want to drive it with a wire outside of the door. Saves removing anything.

The main issue is the capacity of the battery Jap cars are known for having smaller capacity batteries. It is a pain one way of connecting it would be to check the fuse box behind the coin tray for a permanent live then the wiring is inside the car. I am not sure if solar chargers can be connected permanently or not.

I put a heavy duty one from Halfords in mine, can leave it for ages without battery problem even the tracker seems not to cause any issues.

The battery was bought back in 2005 and put on my 52 reg wrx with a tracker and would be left for 2/3 weeks at the airport with no problem. I sold the wrx in 2007 and put the battery on my GX which has been perfect ( despite the GX only getting short runs ) I scrapped the GX bout 8am today The battery was sold by Halfords Ithink it was about 10% dearer than the normal battery.
