As above, it's not worth it. They really put the pressure on when you are there and will find any little blemish to whittle the price down! Sell it on Gumtree privately for free, you'll get more for it.

I understand that the buyers get more commision the more they can knock you down on your price. Drive around a few local car dealers and see what they bid you, to check the price, if you need it sold quickly. It's obvious, but make sure you get paid with cleared funds, especially if someone offers you a lot more than anyone else.

I thought this was a joke thread but the OP was actually genuinely considering going through with it
Sell it cheap privately if you want rid quick.
I got £1200 for my pretty tidy mapped uk wagon a couple weeks back after sticking it on eBay BIN or Best Offer £1300.

I was in a rush to sell my 60' plate Civic Type R as the "perfect" Scooby had popped up which I NEEDED to buy.
I went to WBAC.com and their website quoted 10,600. I was asking £11,000 on PH/AT so 10.6 was acceptable for a quick sale.
I went to show them the car and they knocked £400 off due to stonechips, of which I had reported on the online quote - then the big con was Sat Nav.
I 101% had the Satnav option UNTICKED on the website and when I got there the guy said "so, where's the satnav?". I said it didn't have it so he sucked through his teeth and knocked another £500 off. He then said, ah - this model doesn't have HFT either.
I said "what's HFT" and he said "it's a special traction control device they only install on the top spec ones". I googled it on my phone as I was sat at his desk and politely informed him it was actually Hands Free Telephone...
The final quote was 9,600 and I bartered him back up to £10k as I walked out. I said I was taking no less than £10,600 so I'd leave it.
He said I had till' the Sunday to take him up on the £10k quote and he signed a compliments slip to that nature.
Come the saturday, I REALLY wanted the Scooby so I rang him up telling him I would take the £10k and he said "oh, it's changed now - it's now £9500". After querying his signature on a bit of paper, he stuttered and mumbled and said "fine, 10k it is".
That afternoon I went to the Honda dealership local to me and they offered to buy it for £10,800! I had some optional extra bumpers installed so I removed them that afternoon (which later sold for £450 on a forum) and I took the car back on the Sunday with the OEM bumpers and got the £10,800 with no messing around.
Phoned WBAC 3mins before my appointment (the guy had driven into the office just to do the deal with me) and told him I was about £1200 up on his final offer, and told him not to bother.
Long story short, Jokers - don't bother.

I tried them for a laugh when I was selling my Kia Sportage a few weeks back, as I'd had zero interest from PistonHeads, Gumtree etc. I got an online quote of £4750, which from what I've seen would probably have dropped another 3 or 4 ton on inspection. I sold it at auction for £6200 after fees/backhanders.
I can't really fault them for what they do, they're there for people who are desperate to sell. I wouldn't use them unless it was really last gasp desperate though.

Infact, I may have been a little unfair - I checked my eMails and it was "We Want Any Car" I was dealing with, not "We Buy Any Car"...
Still - useful consumer advice I hope!

Yep, don't do it mate. I had a Ford Cougar, which they offered £1200. I turned up for my appointment and after lots of sucking air through his teeth, the "salesman" finally offered less than £600. I asked him if he was taking the ****, he said no, so I got in the car and left. What a waste of space.

they're all sharks, feeding on the desperate to sell, or those with limited mobility.
I'd advise them to take their quote & stick it where the sun don't shine....
