Whats interchangable between a V8 STI and a V4 Type R?

Whats interchangable between a V8 STI and a V4 Type R?
Using a version 8 2003 STI as a donor car, I'm looking into a 400-450bhp Type R build.
So as said, using an '03 STI as the donor car, what can be removed and added to a version 4 Type R?
I'm aware that the block can be used, but whats the situation with the heads? Would I then be in the situation on needing to rewire and use the newage ECU?
Also aware that 6sp gearbox and brembos are pretty much bolt on, but what about diff, other running gear and suspension?
Any info appreciated, preferrably from experience.

Everything except the suspension, you'll can use aftermarket ecu, not sure about electrics and loom being interchangeable but you could swap the lot presumably.
To do the six speed conversion you need the full drive train off the V8 i'd change the rear hubs as they are better than type r, but you wont have the dccd which is a shame as it's one of the things that makes the type r special, maybe sell the 2003 gear box and buy a dccd one, would only cost an extra £500.

DCCD isnt something i'm fussed about, just another thing to break.

This would be my preferred method so long as the engine loom wouldnt need chopped and was just plug and play. Or have I got unrealistic hopes?

I think if you want to do a full swap, If you use the newage hubs i`m pretty sure you can use the suspension too so would just be a case of swapping shells onto the newage drivetrain, Have also seen a newage dash/interior in a classic before, Albeit cut to fit.

Most of it will just swap straight over, even the suspension - rear top mount pcd is different though. Not that you would really want the potential of knocking rears the newage cars suffer.
If you've got the space, swap the entire loom over. Trial fit the clocks in the classic, they may be a fairly straight fit.
It's what I would do if I had the space, time and money.
