Default Roof spoiler fitting???

I have brought a top roof/window spoiler in carbon fibre an need to get round to fitting it but I don't want to drill the car an bolt it on, how hard or easy would it be to bond it on? Or would it hold with 3M double sided sticky foam?

You really think double sided 3M tape would hold a roof spoiler on at 140+ mph???

Iv Been told it will hold it just as good as a bond but I was unsure hence why I'm asking for people's views on it

TigerSeal "may" hold it but you really need to drill and bolt to be sure - I wouldn't like to think of the damage a flying spoiler could make to the car behind if it came off

There is a thread on here (not sure where) where a roof spoiler held on with tape disappeared in to the bushes at motorway speed.

You will have just as easier job filling and painting as you would getting tiger seal off. I used double sided tape and Tiger seal on the lower spats for my Mercedes and it hasnt budged, even with someone driving into the back of it (lightly), but on a spoiler like that where the air flow is constantly pulling at it I would want to screw it on.

Better safe than sorry I say, if that came off and hit a motorbike at speed it won't be a pretty site.

I don't think you need to worry about the looks being bad, as they always look the dog's dangelies once attached correctly.

Mine is a genuine hawk item which is a little weighty bolted on mate with riv nuts would not even consider bonding it. Least when you bolt it on you can drive without the worry of it blowing off all over someone else's car

In my opinion they are essential when you have a large STI spoiler on the back. It compliments the spoiler really well and makes it look as though it should be there rather than an 'after thought' boy racer stick on with a smooth roofline, smooth rear window and then wam great big wedge stuck on.

I've also got one of these that's been sat under the bed for the last 12 months waiting to get it fitted!

I'll be taking it to a bodyshop to do, if I ask them to use rivnuts rather than ordinary bolts does that mean it can be done from the outside of the car without needing to gain access to the interior of the rear pillars?

difference is yours is a nice genuine item not ebay tat and is in 3 pieces and has correct holes to attach it to the car.
rivnuts are what is used in the factory and its what i used to fit my genuine one too.
glue a spoiler to your roof, seriously?? imagine if it comes of at speed and kills someone, you will be liable.
