Your opinion please...
Hi Guys
I have been looking to get another scooby and ideally want a bug or blobeye. Anyway i have been offered a X reg wrx and the list of mods seems impressive. The guy say it has a stroker kit and forge pistons. I dont know has about the modified of things so asked how can you prove its forge he said he hasnt got the paperwork but you can hear the diffeerence, is this true?
Also on the ad he says on idle it sounds knocky which is normal for a stroker kit, is this right as my friend says when knocky its the bearings..
Am thinking of swapping the guy with my bmw 325 Msport full leather on a 02 reg with only 88k valued around the same price, is his worth £3500 as other said its only worth 2700 the most. but i have seen the prices varies on the classics
Here a link to the car

and heres a picture of mine

any help will be much appreciated
thank you

Don't bother, even if the engine is good there are things wrong/missing. It's got a manual boost controller, dump valve, lexarse lights, etc. No mention of brakes, suspension upgrades, things that I'd like to see. It appears to be a half arsed attempt at building a car. There are plenty of nice ones out there and TBH your BM looks much nicer that his scoob. Oh and it's got a EJ20 crank, so how's it a stroker?

Looks like a uk car (aerial on drivers pillar, no rear wiper, no aircon) so it's not a WRX.
Without the supporting paperwork it is just another Impreza with Lexarse lights and please pull me over Mr Plod spoiler/exhaust, and a rattly engine waiting to go bang.
He may not have the paperwork but surely he remembers who did the work. Go and ask them. Good builders usually keep records.
Get an insurance quote before you go anywhere near it. That may change your mind.
Good luck

is this BS??!
stroker kits and forged engines etc, know on idle they have piston slap., forged pistons are smaller then the bore and have to expand when warm, this is perfectly normal.
