Thumbs up tarox brakes

What are peoples opinions on tarox brakes, ive got the chance of a set of 12pots cheap 350mm rotors (new), pads (new) and fully reconed calipers by tarox uk, also includes full fitting kit and braided hoses? Everyones thoughts would be appreciated.
Cheers wigs

All depends how much they are. AP and the porsche setup are better but if the tarrox setup is cheap enough then its worth a go.

brake upgrades can look really nice, but i guess its down to power your getting from car, those kits not cheap and if u have the 2 pot calipers on front and work well,i would stick with those unless u really want them, plus i read there as good as the upgrades unless u go 400 bhp plus= better stoppers.a brake kit is a good idea when the original brakes start sticking to discs, as mine have done in past then magically just free off on next outing. snow recently has done back calipers no favours so will be fitting replacements ( original) im on 350/330 and seem to work very good. front ones that is.

I run Tarox 12 pots.......... didn't like original pads so bought some Carbotech XP8's.

The cost of running the 12 pots would make me think twice

Standard brakes are utterly crap, I suggest upgrading brakes before doing anything else.
In later classics and newages they used 4 pot calipers, still crap. Even with fancy discs and pads they are crap, over 300 and driven properly then upgrade the brakes. You can't even begin to compare standard brakes with the likes of AP, brembo, ksport of the like.
Brakes should be the first mod people do instead of power hunting.

OP, dont think because they have lots of pistons they are going to better than the likes of AP.
8, 10, 12 etc pot calipers are just for pub talk. A set of AP 6 pots or porsche (brembo) 6 pots are the top of the line and if the tarrox youve been offered are in the price range of the above then leave them. However, the tarrox brakes will still be very good and if reasonably priced they are deffo worth a buy.

Tarox brakes are ok I use to run them in 1990 on my Renault 5 gt turbo, but as above depends on how much your going to get them for if it is a really good bargain go for it you'll be fine.SJ.

with any upgarde brake system i would personally check the cost of replacement discs/rotors and the pad choice available before choosing a specific make..................

exactly my point.................although certain AP/PFC ones are nearer £250/each dependant on exact size/spec, certainly leass than the 700ish you would pay for Tarox........

Thats a very good price Alyn. Best I could get was £190 plus vat per disc and circa £300 for pads. Admittedly the porsche pads are a funny shape.
