Write off value ?
Has anyone ever had there Subaru written off ? Did they take into consideration your modifications when valuing your car and did you take a loss ?
It looks like mine is to be written off due to serious engine damage caused by accidentally going through a big puddle and my induction kit sucked up water and flooded my engine .
I have an immaculate 2001 rally replica bug bug wrx with ppp ,90000 miles and a long list of mods which are all declared on my insurance .

Most pay out based of cap and glass guide.
Also it's written in most policies tgat the ins company keep salvage rights ie you cannot buy it back.
I'd take any bits off it you can replacing it back to standard ASAP.

All companies work in different ways, many people are happy to save £50 on their price and go with a company who pay book price, or don't consider the mods.
Fortunately you payed for a very good policy, so don't have to worry about that.
However, enless someone has had a claim with the same company as you (and most haven't, as our claims ratios are very low) it'll be very hard for them to comment.
Many people think all insurance is the same, but it isn't at all.

well you learn something new everyday, if i did that i would never of thought of going through the insurance.
emmarioids car was written off a while ago and she bought it back and repaired it,then crashed again on the way to prodrive and repaired it again
it was a cat d so didnt need a test or anything to go back on the road, moley may know more but im pretty sure there is some clause in the new policy now as its a cat d repaired regarding its value.

If the car is a Cat D you'll only get 50-60% of what a non-Cat D car would be.
Some companies do pay out if you drive through a puddle/flood, some don't, it often depends on the circumstances.

Enless the person making the claim asks otherwise, all parts would have to be brand new.
So a brand new engine supplied and fitted is going to cost a fair few £££
There was a thread on here the other day when a guy was quoted £9000 from Subaru to supply and fit a replacement 2.0 diesel engine
