Default Your opinions please

I'm after some constructive advice please, I have a 2001 bugeye running about 265bhp after a remap, fuel pump, filter etc, I have recently purchased a vf34, pinks, Sti uppipe, 3 port boost valve , Sti intercooler etc.

I know it's a bit late in the day to be asking this now but with all this fitted and a remap will the difference be that noticeable ? My car does run really well at the moment but the tuning bug has got me and it took me ages to source these parts,

Please , any advice would be greatly received

Cheers
Grant

it will make a big difference, it should make about 330-340 bhp.

so going from 265 to 340 is nearly a 30% increase

when they are fitted it will still run well, but have a better throttle response and be freer revving

think about a sports cat or decat downpipe too and ask to have some pops and bangs mapped in

Cheers guys, really appreciate your advice , which is obviously through experience. Just didn't want to spend a load of hard earned on fitting and mapping if I wouldn't notice it much, the pops and bangs sound good, can they really be mapped in?????

It will be nice and lively compared to the power you are running now,i would also defo suggest doing something with the downpipe because if you still have the cat in place it will restrict it alot.

Are you still running the O.E brakes?because if so you will notice the increase in power and torque as you will find it harder to stop,my advice to you is if you haven't at least got uprated pads or disc and pads there could be trouble ahead and it's something you should be thinking about and add to your equation.SJ.

I like the way you think, brembo's are a nice upgrade, but still I found out with my sti back in the days with just a tsl333 set up back then paul from zen performance was doing the mapping for graham and my sti brakes could not cope with repeated hard stopping a nice disc and pad set up with the brembo calipers is a nice upgrade for the future keep us posted

PF Z-rated pads are my preference very good bite and minimal dusting if you can afford it go for the whole performance friction set up disc and pads, if your on a budget get the pf z rated pads and then contact Ian of godspeed racing on here who does some nice grooved disc for very reasonable money that also work well with the pf z rated pads.

Mine is being mapped on Sunday too - what kind of safe torque figures are we looking at before the standard 5spd WRX gearbox gives way?

How longs a piece of string?,it all depends really how your car is driven, nice and easy let the power come in smooth or tuff launches etc...as I have known 5 speeds in certain cars to have 380bhp and not give in,know two boxes are the same.I think once you get to a certain power level some mechanical sympathy has to be used for it to stay in one piece and a descent unworn clutch.SJ.
