Well water seems to be fine again. have noticed the seal on my exspansion nottle cap half missing, would this cause a problem?

Also noticed oil leaking from underneath, checked and coming from bottom of cambelt covers...might sound daft but why is oil coming from there?

Thanks

it would have to be a very badly blown head gasket to show up on a compression test, in fact so bad it would not be firing on the blown cylinder

crank seals tend to go at around 100kmiles. the front one is quite a simple change. the rear one is a pain. If the cap is tired then you will lose water from there when up to temp and reving a bit.

hopefully its the cap... but maybe sniff test to make sure. compression test doesnt always show a leaking gasket unles really gone as stated above. no harm in having a look at pressures though.

Oil leaking from inside of the cambelt covers can be:
Oil pump seal
Camshaft seals
No sealant on front cam caps (seal carrier caps)
Lack of sealant on crankcase halfs especially above and below oil pump mating face.
