2nd hand car prices (bottom end of market)
I've been halfheartedly looking around for an "interesting" shed for a daily driver for a while (roughly 6 months).
Is it me, or are prices at the bottom end of the market on their way up? E.g. earlier I could find early imprezas for about a grand (seems reasonable, taking into account age etc etc), and now there are no cheap ones about?
Is everyone kite-flying at the moment, or are the higher prices actually being achieved?
Is it the signs of a nascent recovery in the general economy?

It's always the same. Last year I saw A3 TDi Quattros at 2.5k but was just looking. Now I actually want one as a replacement for the Festa Zetec S they are all a grand pricier with higher mileage

As people were not buying new cars 3 years ago, there will be a shortage of secondhand cars of that age and so prices will be firm.
