2002 Special Edition STi
#1
Taken from www.iwoc.co.uk
"2002 Special Edition STi - To celebrate the 30 year aniversary of Subaru most models received special limted edition runs, and the STi was no exception. Featuring more torque than standard (up from 275 to 283lb-ft) and more than the 22B the Limited Edition STi also has a higher rear spoiler (two extensions on the existing item) plus a front air dam"
Correct me if I“m wrong but wasn“t the 22B produced to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Subaru.
Maybe Subaru is getting younger as the years passes

Dunno how many places to put this - REAL info is available on http://www.apexjapan.com
or you could take a look at the Subaru website

http://www.litimports.co.uk also says
"To celebrate its 30th birthday Subaru....."
But still it must be the 30th anniv of Subaru 4WD.
And another thought. Would Subaru introduce 2 brand new special edition Imprezas, the Impreza STi Limited and the Impreza STi S202, if they were about to introduce a facelift on the MY03?

Probably yes, they would. Just like when they made the 'sport special' models a few years ago, it's a good way to raise demand for the last batch of cars off the line before tooling up for something new. The last thing they want is a bunch of old-shape chassis/drivetrains kicking around the factory once a new model has been announced.

That“s possible Andy.
That could explain the existence of the 2002 Special Edition STi but I still find it hard to belief that Subaru would use a body which they are about to switch out to introduce a new king of the rally replicas
I“ve said it before and I“ll say it again: There is nothing wrong with the MY01-MY02 that a pair of Morettes can“t fix

Which, in a nutshell, is all they are going to do isn't it? Photoshopped image in the other thread looked great. Amazing how subtle tweaks here and there, and redesigned headlights can transform a car without resorting to new steel body panels. Maybe the bonnet will require a light reworking to fit around revised lights.
That yellow thing in the other thread with the ridiculous 'touring car' style rear spoiler looked utterly ****e.

Well, no matter what (and of course if) they“ll do to the New Age Impreza there will always be someone to critice the look.
We might even hear such frase as "Bring back the Bug Eye" after next september
