I think you can tax a car 5 days before the last day of the month.

When I tax my car after being on SORN over the winter, I always do it in the post office - not online so un-sure if they will take all of December off you?

I know taxing a car on SORN they usually give out the next months tax disc's a couple of working days from the end of the month - no more.

I too would just go get it in person just to be sure....

if you tell them you want it to start from tomorrow then you'll get the full 6 months, i taxed a car today and done the same thing myself. technically the tax don't start till tomorrow but i doubt any plod will pull me tonight whilst i'm sat at home

You can tax it from the 28th of each month to carry over for the next month.
