Default Scoobyworx v's Godspeed for brakes...

Just some personal experience and interested in comments....

Subary Impreza failed MOT as discs were worn.

After much deliberation ordered a set from Scoobyworx - more expensive than others but 1-3 days delivery was promised.

They took the order and banked the paypal payment then 4 days later still hadn't shipped 'oh we have been moving and we are in a bit of a state' but promised to ship. I was given the choice of couriers and chose City Link (as they have a depot near where I live).

Week passed and still no sign of the brakes (car is off the road all this time).
Email reply from Scoobyworx

The We are away from today as I fly at 4am in the morning. The parcel is with city link and was booked on a next day collection. We wont be here to receive the package back until the 23rd December. Im sorry it hasn't arrived as of yet but city link aren't as reliable as UPS. We sent by city link at your request. If it was sent by UPS it would have arrived by now. Lesson learnt in future on using customer requested couriers

Il chase things up with city link and make sure that they get to you asap.
Ive checked the tracking and its not updated since booking.

If a refund is what you want then it can be done but I can't process it until we receive the goods back and if you refuse delivery of them the courier won't hold them 2 weeks while I'm away and there is a risk of the parcels going missing with how poor some courier firms are. So I advise returning them on or after the 23rd December that's to make sure that we receive them back so we can then process the refund.

I emailed back to this rude email pointing out that City Link was recommended by Scoobyworx... that the tracking said package still not collected...... no confidence at all in this information.

Tracking number from City Link / still shows goods are waiting to be collected

I call Godspeed, order brakes - brakes here the next day.....

I send email to Scoobyworx and they say they will stop City Link delivering the package because I had created a Paypal dispute (because I consider 10 days to be too long to wait for goods with 1-3 days days delivery promised)

With Scoobyworx it took the, Exactly 2 weeks - 14 days after the order for which I paid £19.99 for 1-3 days delivery, and at no time could they give me an exact date when brakes would be delivered

Now Scoobyworx are not back in the country until Dec23rd and they have promised not to give a refund until they have the brakes back. So looks like I'm £350 out of pocket until after Christmas - top marks for Scoobyworx for customer care.

I'm sure there are lots of happy Scoobyworx customers out there - but at least one VERY unhappy one here !

Another +1 for Godspeed, I've used them a few times & always been very helpful & very quick delivery. Also have helped me out with advice when I was trying to figure out what I actually needed.

Ian at Godspeed has been around for a long time.

If he WASN'T much good, his business would have gone under years ago. It hasn't.
In fact it has expanded.

ALL my breaking needs come from Ian and have done for the last nine years.

I have had recon calipers from Scoobyworx, which have been great; I did try Ian but he was away rallying and I had to order them immediately. Scoobyworx was prompt in replying to texts and emails, but I was not able to speak to him; Ian has always been able to give good advice on the phone. Having bought some new discs from someone else on here that were out of true on both faces, I would buy from Ian next time, as he has given me good advice on the phone. I would buy recon calipers from Scoobyworx again, but got the impression that Daryll has alot on his plate, running his business from email and mobile. I am self employed, do a good job, but sometimes it is hard to keep juggling all the ***** in the air, so I can understand that, especially when you go on holiday

Hi hedgecutter,
Yes I also work for myself and its hard keep juggling all the *****, but if you drop one you don't leave someone out of pocket for best part of a month until you can come back and pick up the dropped ball ?

My big brake conversion next year is coming from Godspeed, and I'll be kind to Daryll and not give him any more if he already has alot (or too much?) on his plate.

Slightly off-topic, since Scoobyworx are in Barnsley, their local City Link branch is probably Rotherham. They are absolutely sh1te!

4 days running Rotherham branch failed/never attempted a collection for me, I ended up having to drive down and pick the item up myself, and I work for City Link!

Got full refund from Scoobyworx (at last)

Blame landed squarely at C(sh)ity Link which lines up with one of the postings here.

Now normally I would be once bitten, twice shy, but he has such a good price on BC Coilovers which I was going to buy in January....

I have used both in the past, and IMO scoobyworx have been nothing but faultless with all I have ordered. Godspeed are also very good, however the discs I got are showing signs of warping already after less than 3k miles.

TBH, you take a chance with any company regardless of reputation or use prior. A lot are excellent, but a few slip through the net.
