First Subaru
Bought my first Subaru this week, 52 plate wagon, full service history and 61 thousand miles on the clock for £3000! Any advice is welcome.

Nice car. Bulletproof if looked after carefully and a very quick car point to point. Even with passengers and mountain bikes in the boot!
Do you intend to keep her fully standard or have you got designs on creating a monster?

I guess the first thing anyone thinks of is power. It's always best to be sensible but there are some on here who can give really brilliant and specific advice if you want something mega. A WRX can be made into a real monster as many have proven!
Prodrive provided a huge torque boost and upped the power to 265bhp with their Prodrive Performance Package but it is also possible to do the same with an aftermarket exhaust and remap. Many would preferentially recommend something like a Milltek exhaust, uprated air filter and ECUtek remap for a comservative 270bhp.
But anything more than that can get complicated as you'd ideally want to add a high flow fuel pump and bigger turbo. Smallish investments can see upwards of 300bhp.
Suspension wise the WRX is well sorted even for 300bhp but it can be wise to look at upping the brakes. I'm a huge fan of APs but there are some lovely kits available for a lot less that will do 95% of the job.
Tyres often split opinion massively but I am a big fan of Toyo Proxes T1 Sports.

Thanks for all that info, It has a prodrive exhaust already on it which gives it that lovely rumble. Was thinking about doing the air filter and looked into getting it remapped as it seems a relatively cheap option for a decent power boost. Could you recommend headlights as I'm thinking if changing them.

Oh yes, they burble nicely without an uprated exhaust but with one on they make a lovely bark when you give it some beans. Just watch out for plod and gatsos on your favourite B roads...
There are so many good mappers out there you're spoiled for choice. Have a look through the threads there are some very good and popular individual names and also some good companies. If you read enough you'll know who to use and who to avoid but it's always a good idea to talk to someone else who has used them first!
As for upgrading the headlights, aside the very expensive option of sourcing some genuine Subaru Xenon headlight units I'd google HID Xenon upgrades while you wait for someone to give your their experience.

Nice car, good choice with a Wagon, a top sleeper that's really capable of pi$$ing off the uneducated, loads of fun!!
Forget about morrettes, look gash in my opinion, if you must molester the headlights, take them apart and paint the chrome matt black.

Thanks for all the advice guys, have to admit the diy spray job on the standard lights looks great! Looked into the remapping tonight, prices ranging from £250 to £500 so I'll do some more investigating.
