Default Car viewing tonight

Hi.

I'm going to view 2003 blobeye tonight. It's up for 5900. Covered 95000 miles.

The owner is telling me it has a straight through 2 and half inch scorpion system on it and says even though there's no cat that there's no engine management light on. Also says that it's had abs disconnected as this is what a lot of people do as there peeping there car for big power. Over 400bhp.

Should this be ringing alarm

Seems quite pricey to me. I got a 2005 blobeye wrx ppp with 37k, one owner and full history for £5k. Maybe I just got lucky....

Overpriced, you can get a lot of car for 5k right now, especially Scoobies - I'd leave it and shop around.

Walk 'away' not 'to'. I would not view a car at night unless its garaged with adequate lighting

How would it have been an "ok" car? It was over priced, had no history, high mileage (for the money and lack of history), and not much to say it was "amazing spec", and anything with chavvy lights usually has been ragged and abused.

If you'll settle for an "ok" car, then there's plenty out there, but if your spending strong money, I would want the best I could find, and there are plenty of them about for sale.

Reasons you did the right thing:

Engine light on - could be anything from a reset required to a full rebuild around the next corner.
Wife threw the history away - couldn't they think of a better made up story?!
ABS disconnected - This in itself is bad, there are numerous high power cars, with much more power than that car would ever have, still running ABS and probably glad they have it!
Price - It was strong money for a "not strong" car that could potentially need another few grand spending on it, making it a very overpriced car that you'd never recoup any money from in the future.

...you did the right thing, dont second guess yourself and trick your mind into thinking it could have been good.
