Default 2013.....plans for your car

a new year looms so a new year of upgrades for many people, what have you got planned for your scoob or if you havent got a scoob (why the **** not ) what have you got and what are your plans?

i have a blob wrx in superb condition and the plan was to take it to around 330 ish bhp due to the car only having the weak 5 speed,it has an sti engine but the gearbox was always gonna hold it back but plans have now changed,i have been speaking to a well known tuner who has persuaded me to go for a non-dccd 6 speed set up so thats the route im gonna take i think as i dont think i will be happy with just 330 bhp so i think its better to build the car ready to take high bhp safe in the knowledge that it can handle it,its running porsche 6 pots so the brakes are up to the task of reeling it in

engine wise i was gonna do

-vf35
-pinks
-3 port
-rcm fuel pump
-tgv deletes
-sti up-pipe

but now im gonna have to look into different turbos and injectors for higher bhp and possibly a front mount aswell,i would be happy with around 380bhp

anybody give me an idea on a good turbo, would like early-ish spool and plenty of mid-range grunt

other than that i want an sti interior and a set of coilovers and maybe if funds allow some larger rear brakes

gonna be an expensive year for me

I might actually DOWNgrade mine to run on 95.
Higher octane fuel is rare here, no Shell garages and Tesco often run out when I'm running on fumes.

I don't hold with octane boosters, I'm not convinced about them.
Plus the French are phasing out 98 octane fuel, so it would no longer be able to go to France.......

Only got the car (03 STI PPP) in September but the plan is:

New brakes - grooved discs, pads, upgraded fluid and braided lines
Pro-R air filter
Big 90k service
Front splitter
Zunsport/Prodrive style grills

Nothing really to blow you away but it's a start.

I think i'm going to get it on the Dyno at some point too and price up a remap.

Tax & Insurance is out at end of year on my UK yr2000 Turbo, so plans for Jan/Feb are:

Kevlar Pads
Braided brake hoses
2 pot rear conversion
New age intercooler
Paint inlet;
refitting with spacers & maybe parallel rails
Catch can
Re-Map
& and maybe TD05

Main reason for inlet mods is because I bought a S**t silicone inlet hose & going back to std pipe so I may as well do those whilst inlet is off !

Oh, & rear arches...

No not as standard, it's just had the performance pack so it doesn't have the prodrive style accesories.

Not a fan of those style of body kits, a little too boy racer for my liking.

Rip the broken engine out of the P1 and slot in the forged 2.1 with a set of 900cc injectors, md321T. Install Alkatec and map for 20% methanol

If I decide to keep the car I will get all the parts fitted that I have sitting in the garage-

Harvey headers and uppipe
Adjustable front droplinks
Powder coated Arb
Refurbed inlet manifold
Powder coated header tank

I would also look for a decent 18G, injectors and a nice new inlet pipe

If I keep mine (depending on the increase in parts prices now Subaru have pulled out the UK), I'll possibly sort the rear arch rust issues after I've had this hesitation issue sorted. A day out at Scoobyclinic is in order for this.

Not modding it power wise any more. 110k on her at 13 years old running over 300lbft through a UK box.
