My light lens covers on my STi bug are looking a bit cloudy, I have been told that this can be polished out, is this correct?
And if so what is the best product to use?

Maguires do a kit for this appox £20. But there could be cheaper ways of doing it someone on here who does detailing would know.

Firstly, make sure the clouding is outside or inside and then you'll know whether or not to open up the light. Then there's 2 options...

or I've seen some Kent's headlight polish and that involved flatting back and painting the lights. This latter option looks mint when it's done properly

I've recently done a pair of BADLY pitted driving light covers for my hella 1000FF's

My mate works at a body shop. he gave me some cutting compound, I used it with a wet sponge applicator on a drill, then polished off with a fluffy mop.
Brilliant result.

Certainly can be polished out, but don't bother with the Turtle Wax kit thats on the market - they will look about the same or maybe slightly worse!
My mate tried it on his Civic Type R.

He took it to a mate in a bodyshop and after about an hour of machine polishing, they look like new - I **** you not, like brand new.

I didn't see them do it, but they would have used various grades of grit / polishes I'd have thought. Vital that everything is masked off properly though.

Pop to your local / decent bodyshop, they'll know what to do "for cash"

If you happen to have any already, Megs Metal Polysh is abrasive enough to polish headlights up without being so abrasive that it causes more damage. Only the Megs stuff though, any other metal polish that I've tried is too abrasive.

Alternatively, 5 minutes with a DA and Menz Super Finish (85RE) made mine look like new again.

Alumuim polish what's it called got some to polish the exhaust I want to say autosol but cant quite think of the name right now maybe wrong but did three times with this and polished twice with autoglym polish to protect them so last longer and the result was spot on looks like I have replaced the lights with brand new ones.. for a real long lasting finish the clear coat from the body shop is theway togo but on a budget this works really well

This was done on my 12yr old legacy

Forget all these expensive fancy kits, what you want is some good old fashion T-CUT, works a treat.
