Are we sure they ARE spammers and haven't just been picked on by someone wanting to make out that they are?
It seems very odd that a company would behave in that manner, especially if they've been going, as they claim, since 1876.
I don't want to spoil the fun, but it does strike me as a bit strange.

The company in question will have paid for the services of an SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) 'specialist' who will have made all of the posts on many forums believing that their technique will get the paying company to the first page of Google's search.
The paying company will probably have no idea of the posts on forums being made.
Why post on forums? Google rewards sites that have unique content and that is what forums have, so forums will end up high in search results for a given subject, e.g Subaru.
Spammers use bots to search top ranking forums for keywords, if they have a Kitchen manufacturer on their books then their bot will pick up the word 'kitchen' in a post and report to the spammer who then joins the forum and makes their post.
Why bother? linking an unknown site to a popular site might improve the ranking of the unknown site, it's called link building. Link building became big business but now Google has realised what was going on and has altered their algorythm accordingly.
How bad is forum spam, have a look here...
